2.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Learning Analytics: Flashcards reviewed, spaced repetition intervals, accuracy rates, and active study streaks.
  • Device & Diagnostics: Operating system version (iOS/Android), device model, IP address, and anonymized crash analytics.

2.3 Third-Party Services

We use Google Firebase for authentication and database management, Amazon Web Services (SES) for transactional emails, and OpenAI/Azure for generative AI conversation practice. These vendors process data strictly on our behalf under compliant data processing agreements.

  • To synchronize your learning progress and subscriptions across iOS, Android, and Web in real time.
  • To generate personalized conversational scenarios and contextual grammar corrections.
  • To manage your account, process subscription entitlements, and prevent fraudulent activity.

4. Data Sharing & Zero-Sale Commitment

We do never sell, rent, or monetize your personal information to third-party data brokers or advertisers. We only share data with vetted infrastructure providers essential to delivering the GermanGenie service.

5. Data Security & Encryption

We implement industry-leading security controls, including end-to-end HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest in Firebase Cloud Firestore, and strict role-based access controls for all administrative services.

6. Account Deletion & Data Rights

Regardless of your location, you have the right to access, export, or permanently delete your account and associated personal learning data at any time.

In-App Account Deletion (Apple Guideline 5.1.1(v)): You can delete your account and all associated data immediately and permanently from inside the mobile app by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account or via the web dashboard. You may also request deletion by contacting our support team at support@germangenie.com.
